Abstract:Failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) is an important quality management and reliability assessment tool. However, the conventional model has some weaknesses when applied in actual situations. In this paper, a new risk priority model using interval 2tuple hybrid weighted distance (ITHWD) measure was proposed to improve the performance of the traditional FMEA. It is shown that the improved model has not only considered the subjective and objective weights of risk factors, but also avoided information distortion and loss. Besides, a case study of tool management was provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
