Abstract:This paper, taking Fuzhou urban area as an example studied the urban ET variations and its relationship with urban buildup land and vegetation using two Landsat images of 2003 and 2013. The result reveals that the ET has been sharply decreased by 30.62% in urban areas. The regression analysis shows that ET has a strong negative linear correlation with urban buildup land and an obvious positive linear correlation with vegetation. Apparently, urban expansion, buildup land increase and vegetation reduction are the key factors contributing to the decreasing of ET in urban areas.
