Abstract:Based on UDEC numerical simulation software, this paper illustrates in detail the differences between the BartonBandis (BB) and the MohrCoulomb (MC) joint constitutive models when each model is applied to the stability analysis of the jointed rock slopes. The BB model, which allows the dilation accompanying the shear movements, can predict a good slope motion law consistent with field monitoring, while the slope motion law by MC model is in coherent contact with field monitoring, therefore, the BB model is more suitable for anglicizing jointed rock projects.Consequently, the 10 cm thick shotcrete is proposed for the reinforcement of this rock slope from the result of the BB model simulation. The result shows that proposition for the reinforcement of the slope is proved an appropriate reinforcement method, and the jointed rock slope is constructed according to this reinforcement method.
