Coordinated Design of Mid-block Bus Stops and Crosswalks on a Road with Bus Lane

Abstract:

The safety and convenience of pedestrians and the efficiency of buses were considered comprehensively. Based on detailed analysis of the three key parameters, bus stops position, crosswalks position and distance between stops and crosswalks, a coordinated design model for mid-block bus stops and crosswalks on a road with bus lane was built. Then, coordinated design methods of the two were proposed systematically. Finally, the methods were fully applied in a case study.
