A Operating Speed Model for Acceleration and Deceleration Lane

Abstract: The acceleration and deceleration lane is the important elements of expressways. The operation speed on the acceleration and deceleration lane not only has great effect on the traffic flow in Interchange area, but also is the key factor of the expressway Based on vehicle driving simulator experiments, the autoregressive model predicting the operation speed on the acceleration and deceleration lane was developed in this paper under Atrocious Weather Condition. The model can be used to make the safe operation speed of the expressway for traffic control. The study results will have its application on the Hangzhou bay bridge.
