Based on analysis of the working mechanism,the mathematical model of balance control system for excavating face of slurry shield was founded. Controllers that will be applied to control the pressure of the gases in the bubble cabin and to control the level of the slurry were designed. Simulation of these different controllers designed was carried out respectively in employed alone or combined situations for comparison. The influence of the disturbance to the control system was analyzed, and the way to deal with it was given. The best control method and the automatic shift way according to the different situation were also presented to give the unified digital control model.
