    Abstract:

    A method is put forward which combines the modified first order second moment method (MFOSM) of reliability theory and finite element method in the research.Based on a case study of the bogie framework,the reliability of the concerned part of the side beam is analyzed.The stochastic properties of materials,geometry and loads are considered in this study.The reliability index is obtained by iterating calculation.Further,the sensitivity indexes of reliability index with respect to the random variables are analyzed and the extent of the impact to structure design and manufacture reliability can be obtained.
