The study of the traction network fault location using the transient component can achieve better results than those using traditional methods.The paper presents a study of the relations between the high frequency parts of the transient components and the fault locations to apply the double lines of traction network.The correlative curve between the fault locations and the resonance frequency of the equivalent impedances at the beginning of the traction lines was analyzed through soft simulations.The resonance frequency of the transient component of voltage signals was proved to be the same as the resonance frequency of the equivalent impedances at the beginning of the traction lines.Morlet complex wavelet was utilized to get the resonance frequency of the transient component of the voltage signal.The fault point was located by using the correlative curve between the fault locations and the resonance frequency of the equivalent impedances at the beginning of the traction lines.
