    Abstract:

In order to reveal the intrinsic relation between composition and mechanical properties of graded broken stone, the simulation method for mechanical properties of graded broken stone is put forward on the basis of particle flow code (PFC2D).A case study of Yinghu Limestone aggregate shows that the measured values of California bearing ratio (CBR),shear strength and compressive strength of graded broken stone under different graduations are 495%~692%,592~802 kPa,1.29~1.54 MPa,respectively. The corresponding simulation values are 525%~736%,636~839 kPa and 1.34~1.54 MPa,with respective average errors of 4.50%,5.07% and 5.15%,and the simulation results are basically consistent with the measured results. Finally, particle flow numerical simulation method proves to be feasible in the study of mechanical properties of graded broken stone.
