    Abstract:

    Finite-element method is adopted in the numerical parametric studies to evaluate the ultimate capacity of doubler( plate reinforced tubular T-joints under tensile loading or compress loading. Based on the design formula of un-reinforced tubular T-joints in the code for design of steel structure, parameter φ has been used to evaluate the ultimate bearing capacity of reinforced T-joints. From the analysis result, the following conclusions can be got: (1) Under tensile loading, the main effective parameter is λ; (2) Under compression loading, the main parameters are β and λ.
