Aerosol Characteristics in Test Rig for Air Cleaner Performance

Abstract:

A series of experiments based on aerosol spectrometer Welas 2000 were carried out to study the aerosol characteristics. An investigation was made into the influence of the factors such as gas liquid mass flow rate, dynamic viscosity, surface tension of spray solution and the pressure, velocity, and density of compressed air on the aerosol concentration, size distribution and its dispersion. The empirical formulae for calculating the Sauter mean diameter and size distribution of atomization droplet were developed and validated.
