    Abstract:

A distinct deviation appears between the results of the test methods of micro surfacing technical guideline and actual pavement performance, which influences the micro surfacing application. Based on driving wheel pavement analyzer, the indoor accelerated test on micro surfacing was carried out to study the impact of aggregate gradation, type and content of padding, content of polypropylene fiber on the anti slip performance and wear resistance of micro surfacing. Test results show that coarse gradation micro surfacing is of the higher anti slip performance and worse wear resistance than those of fine gradation micro surfacing. The wear resistance performance can be improved by increasing the content of cement or mineral filler. Polypropylene fiber can improve the anti slip and wear resistance performance. Test results also show that the interaction between tires and pavement can be simulated by driving wheel pavement analyzer, as a result, the performance of pavement surface can be evaluated quantitatively and efficiently.
