Theory Model of Shear Transferring for Perfobond Rib Connector

Abstract:

According to the failure modes of perfobond rib connector, the failure mechanics of the connector with/without penetrate reinforcement in the hole were carefully analyzed. Based on the failure mechanism of the connectors, the calculation method for computing the shear bearing capacity of perfobond connector was proposed by theoretical approaches. Compared with testing results, the calculation results well matches the test values, which indicates the new calculation method has adequate accuracy and it can be used in engineering design preceeding.
