    Abstract:

    This paper presents an experimental study on very high strength steel S960 after cooling down from elevated temperatures and its postfire elastic modulus, yield strength, ultimate strength and stressstrain curves are obtained. The results show that the material properties of steels after fire are dependent on their grade and process of manufacture. Based on the experimental results, this paper proposes some unique predictive equations for evaluating the postfire mechanical properties of S960.
