CFD Analysis of Intake Port Flow Characteristics for Fourvalve Gasoline Engine

Abstract:

To improve the performance of the intake port for some practical fourvalve gasoline engine，the threedimensional numerical simulation of steady air flows was performed with CFD（Computational Fluid Dynamics） software AVLFire.Analysis of the port shows that its figure design is inconsequent and a new design method based upon practical needs was put forward.The improved port proves better in terms of flow Characteristics.
