    Abstract:

    Based on the vision function method and a self developed road lighting reaction time equipment, a comparative study is made of the reaction time of mesopic vision and indirect spectrum energy spreading of three light sources (HPS, LED and LVD). With the collected data,the luminance contrast factors, relative light efficiency and calculated light efficiency of LED, LVD and HPS are obtained.A conclusion is drawn that the lighting safety and energy saving efficiency of LED is much better than those of HPS and LVD. An analysis of the data of spectral energy spreading of three light sources reveals the internal relationship of these three light sources and their similarities and differences, which contributes to further researches.
