    Abstract:

By using kinematics and video demonstrations methods, drivers were trained to take on rational decision-making measures under conflict conditions. Data from 30 participants’ emergency avoidance driving simulator experiments under lateral conflict scenarios at intersections were collected. A generalized linear mixed model was used to analyze differences in avoidance reaction, learning effects, and decision characteristics before, after, and one month after training intervention. The results show that the training intervention significantly improves the accuracy of rational decision-making in both horizontal and vertical evasive reactions in short term. However, after one month of the training intervention, the positive impact of driver training on evasive operations significantly decreases.
