    • Advances on Investigations into ChemoMechanical Coupling Effects on the Volume Change Behavior of Compacted GMZ01 Bentonite

      2017, 45(11):1577-1584. DOI: 10.11908/j.issn.0253-374x.2017.11.001

      Abstract (1570) HTML (423) PDF 1010.90 K (970) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Based on the existing results from literature, contributions on the chemomechanical coupling effects on the volume change behavior of compacted GMZ01 bentonite were reviewed and presented. Results show that the swelling pressure and swelling strain of the GMZ01 bentonite decrease with the increase of concentrations of salt solutions. For a given concentration of salt solutions cyclically infiltrated, the total vertical displacement of the GMZ01 bentonite specimen mainly happens in the first salinizationdesalinization cycle. The plastic compressibility parameter decreases as the concentration of NaCl solution increases, the vertical stress applied during the saturation process has negligible influence on the compressibility parameter; while the yield stress increases as the concentration of NaCl solution or the vertical stress applied on saturation increases. Clearly, investigations on cyclically salinizationdesalinization with multiple cations solutions, the mechanism of microstructure and the multifield coupling tests with consideration of chemical effect should be conducted in the future.

      2017, 45(11):1585-1591. DOI: 10.11908/j.issn.0253-374x.2017.11.002

Abstract:The distinct element method had been widely used to study the macro & micro mechanical behaviors of granular materials, and hence it became more and more important to introduce a reasonable and accurate contact model, which can be applied in a 3D simulation of structured soils. The micro model test method was adopted to analyze the interparticle bond contact responses. Two types of bonded granules glued together with epoxy adhesive or aluminous cement were firstly prepared by a novel selfdesigned apparatus, and then a series of tests, including tension, compression, shear, bending and torsion tests, were subsequently carried out using a rock rheological testing machine and some specific auxiliary loading devices. Test results show that the intergranular bond mechanics and strength envelopes are closely related to the cement agents. The forcedisplacement and the moment/torquerotational angle relationships are approximately linearly in the prefailure stage, while they are different in the postfailure stage for different cement agents, as plastic for epoxy and brittle for cement. Normal force performs a significant influence on the mechanical behaviors of interhemisphere bond; both the critical normal force and stress ratio vary with the cement agent. Under different load space, the shapes of the strength envelopes, where the peak shear strength (shear strength, moment and torque versus normal force) appear nearparabolic.

      2017, 45(11):1592-1601. DOI: 10.11908/j.issn.0253-374x.2017.11.003

      Abstract (1198) HTML (430) PDF 1.53 M (804) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Due to the particularity of heterotype shield, further research need to be executed on grouting diffusion effect and control parameters. This diffusion mechanism and parameter acquisition were studied using smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) for the first quasirectangular shield tunneling project in China. The results show that the grout diffusion pattern has an related squeezing filling property in longitudinal and ring direction, and its filling efficiency is poor at top/bottom of the shield; The grout diffusion surface curvature, grouting pressure loss rate, entire flow sealing efficiency and filling uniformity of rectangular grout are better than these situation of liquid grout and thick grout; The disturbance degree of 150% injection rate for the surrounding stratum environment is minimal, and the optimum effect with grout injection ratio is 4∶3∶2∶1, which reflects in pressure distribution is more uniform; And considering the filling time, it is suggested that the symmetrical hole position is more suitable for synchronous grouting.

Abstract:A substructure shaking table testing (SSTT) method using a modified ChenRicles (CR) integration algorithm for the multistory sheartype structure was proposed. The velocity and displacement formulations of the CR algorithm were retained in the modified algorithm, while a stability adjustment factor was introduced to calculate the integration parameters. In addition, dynamic condensation technique was used to take the contribution of the experimental substructure into consideration. Finally, stability analyses of the proposed substructure method were conducted using the discrete control theory. The variables include the structural parameters, time step, stability adjustment factor, whether or not using dynamic condensation, and interest frequency of dynamic condensation. It can be drawn from the stability analysis results of a 2story sheartype structure that the proposed method is able to efficiently improve the stability compared to the SSTT method using the CR algorithm.

      2017, 45(11):1611-1620. DOI: 10.11908/j.issn.0253-374x.2017.11.005

      Abstract (2126) HTML (477) PDF 1.23 M (995) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:According to the explosive dynamics and vibration theory, utilized theory model of Euler beam and improved Timoshenko beam to analysis dynamic response of simply beam. Blast load was simplified to triangle load. The explosion overpressure was determined by J. Henrych. The results show that dynamic response is divided into two phases, i.e. comprising forced vibration stage (elastic and plastic) with load and free vibration stages with noload. Furthermore, beam yield judgment used equation of the relation between deflection and stress. The numerical calculations of the finite element model relatively good fitted to the theoretical values of Timoshenko beam model compared to the Euler beam model. Considering shear inertial effect in Timoshenko beam theory lead to this phenomenon. For the requirement of engineering practice, constraint form of propping end effect on beam response, constraint form is simplified to model which contains spring and damping. Through coefficients variation of elastic propping, resistance moment and damping to research variation of critical displacement.

      2017, 45(11):1621-1628. DOI: 10.11908/j.issn.0253-374x.2017.11.006

      Abstract (1288) HTML (476) PDF 1.07 M (834) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Variation of stagnation point has significant influence on mouth bar formation and sediment deposition. A threedimensional hydrodynamic and salinity transport model based on MIKE 3 which has well been validated through observation data of tidal level, velocity magnitude and direction, and salinity was established to simulate and analyze the movement of the stagnation points caused by the Yangtze estuary deepwater channel project and the Hengsha east shoal siltation and reclamation project. It reveals that, ①Position of stagnation point is determined by an improved bottom average unitwidth flux formula, and the verification of stagnation point is good. ②Water depth and current speed has increased after construction of the Yangtze estuary deepwater channel project, the increase of ebb discharge is obviously large than the increase of flood discharge, and stagnation points move downstream in all bifurcations. ③After the Hengsha east shoal siltation and reclamation project, stagnation point moves about 5 km downstream in the North Channel and moves about 1 km upstream in both North Passage and South Passage.

    • Impacts of Cycle Length and Volume on Traffic Emissions and Delay at Signalized Intersections

      2017, 45(11):1629-1639. DOI: 10.11908/j.issn.0253-374x.2017.11.007

      Abstract (1468) HTML (569) PDF 1.47 M (628) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Considering different arrival types which can represent the quality of the progression, this study developed an emission estimation algorithm at signalized intersections by reconstructing the vehicle trajectory based on shock wave theory and applying Vehicle Specific Power Model. Then, the delay model proposed in HCM 2010 was combined to analyze the impacts of signal cycle length and traffic demand on emissions and delay, what’s more, the game relationship between emissions and delay was discussed. Results indicate that both emissions and delay per vehicle become smaller when signalized intersections experiencing a more favorable progression under equal condition. As cycle length increases, the pervehicle emissions decrease while the delay decreases and then increases, specifically, the higher quality of the progression, the larger the optimal cycle corresponding to the minimum delay. The impact of traffic flow on pervehicle emissions was found to be insignificant, however, control delay is much more sensitive to traffic demand than emissions.

    • Balance of Triple Leftturn Lane Volumes at Urban Intersection and Its Influential Factors

      2017, 45(11):1640-1647. DOI: 10.11908/j.issn.0253-374x.2017.11.008

      Abstract (1212) HTML (422) PDF 1.18 M (689) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:A method to model and analyze balance of multiple lane volumes was proposed based on the relationship between multilane traffic distribution and driver’s lane choosing behavior. The triple leftturn lanes at urban signalized intersection were taken as case study. The collected leftturn lane volumes were organized as compositional data, and seven factors were taken into account as they could influence traffic distribution on triple leftturn lanes. A compositional analysis of variance model was formulated in the simplex to satisfy the constraint of the lane volume ratios. The dependent and independent variables are triple leftturn lane volume composition and selected influential factors respectively. The stay in the simplex approach was designed to estimate the model. Results show that the model can identify the factors with significant influence on the leftturn traffic distribution and quantify the influence degree of a factor on the ratio of each lane volume with respect to total leftturn traffic. Specific setting of the length of signal cycle, the length of vehicle turning curve inside the intersection, the setting of shadowed leftturn lane, the length of upstream segment, the location of the first leftturn sign or pavement marking at upstream,or the number of through and rightturn lanes could make the traffic distribution on triple leftturn lanes achieve relative balance.

Abstract:The splitting fatigue test was conducted on insitu emulsified asphalt cold recycled (EACR) mixture to inspect its attenuation characteristics of stiffness modulus as well as viscoelastic properties. The laboratory newprocessing EACR mixture was also tested for comparison. The failure criterions of two kinds of EACR mixtures were established based on fatigue testing results using damage mechanics theory. Moreover, Fatigue testing results indicate that more traffic loads will lead to more reduction in fatigue life of insitu EACR mixture and the fatigue life EACR mixture improves after being placed in service.

    • Moisture Stresses of Semirigid Base at Hardening Stage During Construction

      2017, 45(11):1655-1658. DOI: 10.11908/j.issn.0253-374x.2017.11.010

      Abstract (1380) HTML (428) PDF 526.28 K (618) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:In terms of semirigid base cracks induced by moisture change at hardening stage during construction, the shrinkage stress and curling stress were discussed in related to the factors of dry shrinkage strain, horizontal friction stiffness and vertical reaction modulus by using an elastic foundation beam model. The results show that the shrinkage stress ratio grows with increase of the horizontal friction stiffness in “S” trend and gradually converges to 1; whereas the curling stress ratio is the function of L/r (the ratio of the length and stiffness of the beam radius) with increase of L/r,firstly grows up and slightly exceeds 1 then comes down to 1. In the end, the moisture stresses for a group of cement stabilized aggregate with ordinary cement content are calculated, based on the crack criterion, it is easily judged that the premature cracking on cement stabilized aggregate base would be induced at hardening stage.

      Abstract (1013) HTML (395) PDF 672.28 K (563) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:To verify the using feasibility of regenerated lubricating oil, a regeneration 15w40 lubricating oil for bus diesel engine generating from used 15w40 lubricating oil with membrane distillation was used as the research object, the decay of the physical and chemical indexes i.e. viscosity, acid value, alkali value, water content, insoluble matter and etc. were studied during the lubricating oil service period. The result showed that during the prescribed service period, along with the service time, the viscosity change rate, alkali value reduction ratio of base value, the water and insoluble matter content, as well as the Fe, Al, Cu and Si elements content were lower than the limit value from GB/T 7607—2010 which indicate when the oil should be changed except for the increase amount of acid value. The antioxidant capacity and contamination level of regenerative lubricating oil were relatively poor compare with that of original 15w40 lubricating oil. Therefore, we should pay particular attention to improve the antioxidant capacity and to reduce contamination level during the production of regenerative lubricating oil.

      2017, 45(11):1675-1680. DOI: 10.11908/j.issn.0253-374x.2017.11.014

      Abstract (1148) HTML (239) PDF 791.46 K (641) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The motor was considered as a rigid body with 6 degrees of freedom, the free vibration equation of the suspension system was established. Taking the decoupling degree as the optimization goal, the motor traverse and floatation frequency as the constraints, the threedimensional stiffness of the rubber elements of the motor suspension system is optimized based on the genetic algorithm. Combined with a subway vehicle dynamics model and field tests, the vibration and stress of the bogie and car body were analyzed when the rigid suspension scheme and the decoupling optimum elastic suspending scheme were adopted. Results show that each rigid mode of the motor can obtain a good decoupling degree, the highest decoupling degree reached 100%, frequencies distribution and expected value are basically the same. Compared with the rigid suspension scheme, when the motor adopts the elastic suspension scheme with optimized decoupling, it can effectively reduce the vibration and dynamic load of the critical parts of the bogie, which effectively reduces the fatigue damage of the bogie.

Abstract:The antioverturning capacity of straddling monorail vehicle is significantly affected by the contact states of stabilizing wheels and guiding wheels with track beam. When one side stabilizing wheel on bogie leave the side surface of track beam, the antioverturning ability straddling monorail vehicle of will decrease significantly. The overturning equations of straddling monorail vehicle are established and the formula of flexibility coefficient is deduced, and the influence of the contact state between the stabilizing wheels and guiding wheels and the track on the height of buoyancy centre and flexibility coefficient is analyzed. The critical roll angle is proposed to evaluated the change of antioverturning capacity of straddling monorail vehicle, and the formula of critical roll angel is derived and verified by UM software simulation. The reasonable value of prepressure on stabilizing wheel is discussed according to critical roll angle. When the preload pressure of the stabilizing wheels is determined, the maximum and minimum negotiation speeds at curves should be set to ensure dependable antioverturning capacity of the vehicles.

Abstract:Based on orthogonal design theory and grey correlation theory, structure parameters of new type economizer were optimized. Nine groups of calculation models were defined according to the orthogonal design method and three kinds of variables (long axis, short axis and plate spacing). Combined the simulation conclusions and analysis, the optimization results of plate type economizer show that: when the gas flows in corrugated channel and water flows in internal circulation channel, plate spacing, among the three factors, has the most significant impact on the optimization index. When the plate length is 400 mm, the optimal structural parameters of new plate and shell economizer are as follows: when the long axis is 32mm, the short axis is 12mm and the plate spacing is 25 mm. In addition, an experimental platform was set to verify the optimal structure, which provides a new method for the design of plate type economizer.

      Abstract (999) HTML (21) PDF 811.34 K (512) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Compared with terrestrial radio waves, the underwater acoustic wave propagation is pretty slow and varies more greatly. A lot of current medium access control (MAC) protocol designings for underwater acoustic sensor networks are borrowed from the mature terrestrial networks and have not deeply considered the underwater acoustic propagation characteristics. Such characteristics and proposes a collision model of two consecutive packets in continuous time allocation case in time division multiple access (TDMA) protocols were considered. Then the relationship of the guard time and the distance between the cluster head node and the sensor nodes was analyzed. And finally a guard time settings policy was suggested based on this relationship. Theoretical analysis and simulations show that this approach can improve the conservative traditional guard time settings and can effectively improve the performance and efficiency of underwater acoustic sensor networks.
